Session 25: GEOMECHANICS FOR ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
The scope of the session is broad, emphasizing fundamental concepts and mathematical models in multi-phase geomechanics and multi-physics and mechanics of porous media, the experiments and analysis of novel phenomena and applications, as well as analytical field studies. In terms of areas of specific technologies, we encourage contributions covering geomechanics for natural and enhanced geothermal energy, geological solutions in disposal, storage and retrieval of nuclear, hazardous and domestic waste, resource engineering and mining, conventional and unconventional petroleum engineering, natural gas geotechnologies, geological sequestration of carbon dioxide and methane, methane hydrate technology, and any possible new energy and environment protection technologies involving geomaterials.
Submitted papers will be selected for publication at:
• Journal of Energy Challenges and Mechanics
• Geomechanics for Energy and the Environment
