Welcome to North Sea Conference & Journal!

Founded in 2013 and located in Aberdeen, Europe’s Energy Capital, North Sea Conference & Journal offers a unique approach to academic exchange in science and technology. Today we have held series of international conferences on topics related to energy, artificial intelligence, mechanics and quantum technology, published five volumes of the Journal of Energy Challenges and Mechanics, authored by researchers in engineering, economy, as well as policymaking.

Our mission is to facilitate a productive exchange of knowledge between academia, industry, and research societies who seek solutions to address challenges humankind are facing.

To this end, we have committed ourselves to establish a level playing field for researchers regardless of their country of origin, institutional affiliation or seniority. In doing so, our conferences present a distinctive opportunity for students and other emerging researchers to exchange ideas with senior experts in their field. To hear more about this, you can listen to a selection of Interviews with past speakers and browse the events.

Our commitment to equal opportunities and accessibility means that we keep registration costs and all other fees as low as possible. For this reason, we cannot offer any discounts, as this would cause us to operate at a loss. The only exception is for delegates who also carry out administrative or other tasks for the conference, as those discounts recuperate the labour costs.

Besides such delegates, we are also looking to employ 8 helpers for our upcoming conferences. Applicants must be based in or near Aberdeen. If you are interested in applying, please contact us at [email protected]

Global impacts

A diverse range of countries is represented at our conferences, which maximises our global impact. 56 different countries and regions were represented at the 7th International Symposium on Energy held in 2017. The top 10 countries by the number of delegates were China, the UK, South Korea, the US, Germany, Japan, India, Austria, Kuwait and Poland.

Below is the National Distribution of Delegates for the Sixth International Symposium on Energy Challenges and Mechanics we organised in 2016, with 46 countries and regions represented.
